Water For People 2011 Annual Report photo series #1

In the early part of 2011, Exposure Collective traveled to Cuchemuela Bolivia with the creative team from Water For People to capture still and motion imagery for their 2011 Annual Report. Shooting for the print and online editions meant spending enough time in each location to get the shots we needed to tell the story in both mediums, while keeping a steady pace to ensure we covered as much ground as possible. The goal of this assignment was to show the various donors and sponsors of this international NGO what their “Everyone” campaign really looked like on the ground.

Water For People is unique in the NGO world in the fact that it believe that everyone; every family, every school and every clinic, should have access to clean water and adequate sanitation no matter how difficult or costly it may be. Their model relies on creating a partnership between governments, communities and individuals where everyone has a financial stack in the game as well as it’s implementation and longevity. Our challenge was to weave together this narrative in stills and motion, in a way that was engaging without being preachy or technical.
